We're off to see the Wizard......

I am just so excited about our Spring musical, The Wizard of Oz.  It is a classic story of good prevailing over evil, kindness winning over cruelty and realizing there truly is "no place like home". I was privileged to be a part of this play when I was in high school as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North.  

Mrs. Bourne and Mrs. Adams have done a lot of work preparing our students for this musical. Mr. Bullock has made some amazing sets. Mrs. Crouse has helped paint and design sets and props. The students have just done so much work learning lines and songs and rehearsing. 

Please come out for a night of wholesome family entertainment next Thursday or Friday evening from 6:30-8 and see The Wizard of Oz. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and $15 maximum for a family. There will be small concessions and a short intermission. 

Art Show 2016

Each spring, we showcase our students art they have created throughout the school year. Students in grades K- high school paint, draw, mold, cut, paste and sculpt items to be displayed. I am always in awe of the talent and creativity our students have. This year was no exception.

Does the Bible Contradict Science?

At TFCA, we don't ever want to be afraid to learn about topics academically.  We want to empower our students to understand their Christian worldview and filter everything they learn through God's truth. 

A few weeks ago, I listened to this podcast from Southland Christian Church pastor, Jon Weece. He does a great job tackling biblical truth and science. It is well worth your time to listen!

5th Grade Poetry with Parents

Each year, our fifth graders do a poetry unit. It culminates with a breakfast for students and parents. The students each select one poem to read for the group. One of our grandparents, Mary Bailey, a published author and poet, comes and helps lead this unit. She honored students with awards today. All their poems were judged by our middle and high school language arts teachers. Each genre was given first through fifth place ribbons and honorable mention ribbons. 

The students were proud of their work!

We are very proud of their efforts!
